I bought these two matching glass/copper/brass things at a church sale. No one had the vaguest idea what they were. They are about six inches tall, 3 inches wide. There is a screw in the brass cap, so it can be removed, and underneath the cap there is a cork. I love colored glass, so now they are mine ... can someone tell me what they are? Thanks in advance! Because the base is slanted toward the back and has no curb around the edge, anything like an umbrella or a cane would slide right off and onto the floor. I know it's going to be hard to figure out what it was for, but dontcha…"
"It could be for croquet mallets also. It may be a store display and you might never know exactly what it once held. But, what it held won't determine it's price so much as what someone can do with it now. It looks like it would make a nice…"
"Hi John ... That's an interesting guess, and something of a similar shape but skinnier than a golf bag might be the answer ... because the opening at the top is only 7 1/4 inches ... I had pictured perhaps a pile of hats? But I'm really…"
What is this wooden thing? It's about 39 inches high, 18 inches across. At first glance, it looks like it could be a stand for umbrellas or canes, but the bottom piece has no lip and slants toward the back, so anything long and narrow would slide right out. I'd love to find the right home for this ... and it would help if I knew what it is!
