"the bracket is just a bit longer and now that i check it more closely the screws do come through just below some leaves. The screws are in the same place on each side. whoever added the bracket did a nice job."

"How interesting! The idea of a trivet did cross my mind because of the feet, but the bracket was throwing me.  I like that it can be displayed standing up. It looks pretty cool that way sitting on a shelf. Thanks for the information."

"I was just going to reply that it looks a lot like a trivet we have in the shop (minus the bracket which, as you said, could have been added for display or as some sort of steampunk-esque idea). Thanks for the pics!"
