I have had this plate for30 or so years, in my collexction and have never got any good explantion on its content, with the MEI  or MET 1945, other than it was the end of the war, and we had defeated Germany & Hitler,their is lots of symbalizm in its content,

You can find the answer here MEI is May. It depicts the liberation of the Netherlands and shows a Belgium and French soldier standing on a Nazi Dragon.
